You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
When: Jan 11, 2021 12:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
Topic: Lincoln Academy- 1/11-“ Boy and His Dog” Statue: A Presentation by Nancy Blanton of the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum
Did you know that Lincoln is home to an important statue by one of America’s most renowned sculptors, Cyrus Dallin (1861-1944)? “The Boy and His Dog” is situated
near the entrance of the Lexington Road Cemetery. It was commissioned and then donated to the town by resident Helen Osborne Storrow in the 1920s. The Cyrus Dallin Art Museum will talk about the artist, the donor, and of course the Storrow sculpture itself.
Indeed, other Dallin works with Lincoln connections include his “Appeal to the Great Spirit” outside the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the “Paul Revere Statue” in Boston. The January 11 Zoom presentation is cosponsored by the Lincoln Council on Aging, the
Lincoln Historical Society, the Lincoln Cemetery Commission, and the Lincoln Town Archives.
