NOW is the time to learn about the new green electricity program
in Lincoln, called Lincoln Green Energy Choice. The first virtual information
session will be this Thursday, January 21 at 7:30 PM. (Zoom Meeting ID: 942 3538 8880 / Passcode:
460113.) The next will be on Thursday,
February 4 at 1:00 PM using the same Zoom link. For information on the Green
Energy Choice program: www.LincolnGreenEnergyChoice.com.
Lincoln Green Energy Choice allows residents to increase clean,
renewable sources in their electricity supply, like local wind and sun. Residents,
who currently have their electricity supplied by Eversource, recently received
a letter from the Town of Lincoln providing details. If you received the letter and you do nothing, you will be
automatically enrolled in the Standard Green option. That option is slightly
less expensive than the Eversource Basic winter rate now in effect and has more
than double the renewable energy. The Lincoln Green Energy Committee (GEC) therefore
recommends against opting out of the Green Energy Choice program. There is
no charge to sign up, change, or stop the program at any time.
The Green Energy Choice program also includes
a 100% Green option and a Budget option. You can learn more about how to choose
and activate one of these options through one of the Zoom sessions and the
website. GEC recommends using electricity that has been generated by the most renewable
sources. Opt-up to 100% Green, if you can!
Additional virtual information sessions will be on Sunday, February 7 at 4:00 PM, hosted by First
Parish in Lincoln and Monday, February 8 at Noon, hosted by the Council on
Aging. For Zoom links and more, go to
www.LincolnGreenEnergyChoice.com.
